
HANOVER, Md. — A 20-year-old Severn man is facing multiple weapons charges after Anne Arundel County police recovered a loaded handgun with an obliterated serial number during a park check in Hanover late Monday night.
According to the Anne Arundel County Police Department, an officer was conducting a routine check of Jessup-Dorsey Park, which is closed to the public from dusk to dawn, at approximately 9:50 p.m. on July 14, 2026.
During the patrol, the officer observed an occupied Nissan Sentra parked inside the closed park and made contact with the vehicle’s occupant. The investigation led the officer to develop probable cause to search the vehicle.
During the search, police recovered a loaded 9mm Glock handgun with an obliterated serial number, along with 14 rounds of ammunition.
The vehicle’s occupant, identified as Elijah Sammuell Peace, 20, of Severn, was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
