The Charles County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Kevin Antonio-Romel Boykin, 21, of Brandywine for a robbery which occurred earlier this year.
On April 19, a 17-year-old Accokeek boy was in the parking lot of the St. Charles Towne Center in Waldorf when Boykin approached him, implied he had a weapon and demanded the boy’s wallet, cell phone and other property. The victim complied and Boykin fled the scene in a silver Pontiac sedan.
Detectives identified the owner of the vehicle, Boykin’s mother, by the tag number which led to the identification of Boykin as the suspect.
Boykin was charged with robbery, first- and second-degree assault and theft valued at less than $500. He was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner. Det. K. Keelan investigated.
