ย At 9:08 p.m. Wednesday, members of the Calvert County Sheriffโs Office Crash Reconstruction Unit responded to Md. Rt. 231 at Yardley Hills in Prince Frederick for a motor vehicle crash.
ย It was determined that a 1994 Honda Civic 2 door sedan was traveling eastbound on Md. Rt. 231 in the area of Old Time Lane when it crossed the double yellow line and was traveling eastbound in the westbound lane.
ย The driver, later identified as Brad Alan Fowler, 21 of Lusby, attempted to correct the vehicle at which time he lost control and the vehicle struck the curb on the eastbound side of Md. Rt. 231.ย It continued eastbound off the road and struck a light pole, a utility pole and a tree.ย The vehicle overturned and came to rest in the intersection of Yardley Drive and Md. Rt. 231.
ย Fowler was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.
ย A passenger in the vehicle, Charles Albert Jost, Jr. 22 of Prince Frederick, initially trapped inside the vehicle, was taken to Prince Georgeโs Hospital Center in Cheverly by Maryland State Police Trooper 7 helicopter where he is presently listed in stable condition.
ย The ongoing investigation is being conducted by Dep. Edwin Bradley of the Crash Reconstruction Unit.
