At 2 a.m. July 7, Charles Sheriffโs Capt. D. Gimler observed a suspicious vehicle displaying incorrect tags in a parking lot in the 4400 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf.
Capt. Gimler attempted to stop the vehicle and it fled. Three juvenile suspects who had been with the vehicle remained in the parking lot and were detained.
Investigation revealed the suspects broke into Mattingly Construction located at 2 Industrial Park Drive in Waldorf and attempted unsuccessfully to break into Atlantic Cycle located at 4580 Crain Highway in White Plains.
The suspects stole a dump truck and a pickup truck from Mattingly Construction as well as a Dodge Intrepid from White Plains Auto Sales located at 4500 Crain Highway.
All three vehicles were recovered along with a tow truck that had been stolen in Prince Georgeโs County.
The accused juveniles were charged and held at Cheltenham Youth Facility. Approximately six other suspects were not apprehended.
