BOWIE, Md. – On February 8th, 2022, at approximately 5:05 PM, Bowie Officers responded to the 14900 Block of Health Center Drive for multiple reports of gunshots and an armed robbery incident. Investigation revealed that the victim was approached by multiple male suspects armed with handguns who demanded the victim’s property. During the course of this incident, the victim was able to produce a handgun and fired in self defense, striking one of the robbery suspects. The suspects fled on foot and in a vehicle.
Bowie Officers searched the area and located two suspects, one of which was struck by the victim. Detectives were able to identify the suspects’ vehicle, which had been reported stolen out of Virginia. The vehicle fled and crashed, and both additional suspects were apprehended with assistance from Prince George’s County Police Department. Both were armed and two firearms were seized.
DANE N. GAYLE (17yo / Bladensburg, MD), JOHNATHAN BURGESS (16yo / Upper Marlboro, MD), JADEN JONES (17yo / Hyattsville, MD), and one 15yo male suspect (Hyattsville, MD) have been charged accordingly. Jones was transported to a regional hospital for treatment of injuries.
Please punish them. They need to be removed from their environment and rehabilitated.

This is why our 2nd amendment needs to stay as is. If the left had their way, the criminals would have successfully robbed and killed this person. I think more folks should be armed, keeps these idiots in check
Stop arresting them an letting them right back out. They wont learn that what there doing is wrong and a crime.
Glad he was able to defend himself. He could have been robbed, pistol whipped, or killed. Real life example of why we have the 2nd amendment! He gets to go home to his family.

This will be very interesting to follow. Maryland has made it almost impossible to legally defend yourself. It is most likely that the victim was breaking the Victim State’s law by being able to ‘produce a handgun’. The Victim State will probably go after the victim, as usual and the four ‘children’ will be rewarded for exposing another victim with a gun.
