FATAL MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT IN MARYLAND

LOTHIAN, Md. — A woman was killed after her motorcycle collided with a car at a rural intersection in southern Anne Arundel County Friday evening.

Emergency crews and officers from the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Southern District were called to the scene around 6:15 p.m. July 25, 2025, at the intersection of Mount Zion Marlboro Road and Main Street. Due to the severity of the injuries, the department’s Crash Reconstruction Team responded.

Investigators determined that a 2009 Yamaha Star motorcycle was heading west on Mount Zion Marlboro Road when it collided with a 2012 Honda Accord that was turning left from Main Street. Police said the Honda was attempting to travel east and had crossed into the westbound lane when the motorcycle struck the car’s rear quarter panel.

The impact ejected the motorcyclist from the bike and into the roadway.

The rider, identified as 43-year-old Katrina M. Prieur of Upper Marlboro, was flown by Maryland State Police medevac to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. She died from her injuries the following day, authorities confirmed.

The driver of the Honda Accord, a 20-year-old man from Bowie, was not injured.

Police said the crash remains under investigation and no charges have been announced.
