CROWNSVILLE, Md. – On July 6, 2024, at 7:48 a.m., emergency personnel responded to St. Stephens Church Road and Penderbrooke Drive for a serious crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV.
The police investigation revealed that a 2009 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling north on St. Stephens Church Road and crossed the center line of the roadway into oncoming traffic. The Suzuki motorcycle struck a 2014 Toyota Sequoia that was traveling south on St. Stephens Church Road.
The operator of the Suzuki motorcycle, Gregory Alan Hood, a 59-year-old male from Shady Side, MD, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire personnel. The driver of the Toyota Sequoia, Lisa Michelle Cruz, a 47-year-old female from Millersville, MD, sustained no injuries.
