Person Safely Removed From Thomas Johnson Bridge After Emergency Response

SOLOMONS, Md. — Emergency crews responded Friday afternoon after a report of a person in crisis on the Thomas Johnson Bridge.

The incident was reported around 2:42 p.m. May 15, 2026, on the bridge between Calvert and St. Mary’s counties. A 911 caller stated a person was on the bridge and that others were attempting to talk with and restrain the individual until help arrived.

The person was safely brought down from the bridge before the situation escalated further.

He was transported to CalvertHealth Medical Center for evaluation.

No additional details were immediately available.
