At 1:42 May 7, Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Oaks Road near Tall Oaks Place in Charlotte Hall for the report of a motor vehicle crash.

The investigation revealed Thomas Lawrence Morrison, 66, of La Plata was traveling east on Oaks Road when he failed to negotiate the sharp curve near Tall Oaks Place. His vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

An ambulance transported Morrison to Civista Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead about 2:54 p.m.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Officer R. Williams of the Traffic Operations Unit.
