PARK HALL, Md. — A 65-year-old bicyclist was airlifted to a local hospital after falling unconscious on Point Lookout Road near Snow Hill Way in Park Hall on Thursday afternoon.

Emergency personnel responded to a 911 call at approximately 2:15 p.m. The caller reported that the man had become dizzy and fallen off his bicycle, and that bystanders were performing chest compressions.

Upon arrival, crews found the bicyclist unconscious and struggling to breathe. EMS personnel immediately began CPR, achieving the return of spontaneous circulation within minutes. A MEDEVAC was requested for the patient.

Firefighters established a landing zone at St. Mary’s College of Maryland for Maryland State Police Trooper 7. The patient was subsequently flown to MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center for further treatment.
