SOUTHERN MARYLAND – Early school dismissals have been announced on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, for St. Mary’s, Charles, Calvert, and Prince George’s Counties. Anne Arundel has announced virtual learning. Students, staff, and families are advised to prioritize safety and stay updated through official channels for weather and road conditions. Here are the latest notices:

ST. MARY’S – On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, all St. Mary’s County Public schools begin the day on time and will be dismissed 2 hours early due to the forecast snowstorm arriving tomorrow afternoon. For more information visit www.smcps.org. Thank you, and be safe.

CHARLES – Due to the inclement weather forecast, Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) will dismiss schools two-hours early on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025. 

CCPS will re-evaluate this decision tomorrow morning and make any additional announcements by 5 a.m., if necessary.   

  • All CCPS field trips, afterschool and evening activities are canceled for Tuesday, Feb. 11.
  • The AlphaBest program that operates at CCPS elementary schools will remain open until 4 p.m. on Feb. 11, or until the last child is picked up for the day.
  • Families of students in prekindergarten and kindergarten should plan to be at the bus stop to receive their child at the adjusted drop-off time in the afternoon.

Any changes to this schedule for Feb. 11 will be announced by CCPS tomorrow morning by 5 a.m. Follow the CCPS website, www.ccboe.com, for the most up-to-date information.

CALVERT – Inclement Weather Notice: Calvert County Public Schools will have a 2-hour early dismissal on Tuesday, February, 11, 2025.

ANNE ARUNDEL – Due to the forecast for significant snowfall that could inhibit the safe transport of students home from schools in the afternoon, all AACPS schools will operate on virtual learning schedules on Tuesday, February 11. Schedules for the student day can be found at www.aacps.org/virtuallearning. There will be no Evening High School classes and no in-person after-school events or activities on Tuesday, February 11.

AACPS central and satellite offices will be open on Tuesday, February 11. Employees who are unable to travel to or from those work locations because of a hardship should notify their supervisor to discuss other arrangements. Unit III personnel will receive additional reporting instructions.

PRINCE GEORGE’S – Due to expected inclement weather, all Prince George’s County Public schools and offices will dismiss two hours early on Tuesday, February 11.

Designated PGCPS emergency personnel are required to remain on duty and should follow their assigned work schedules based on the operational needs of their department.

-Vendor-managed care programs will remain open until 4 p.m.

-Half-day Early Childhood Centers and Special Education Programs will be closed.

-All field trips, activities, and athletic events are canceled.

Families of Pre-K through first-grade students who ride the bus should make arrangements to be at the bus stop to receive their child at the adjusted drop-off time.
