WALDORF, Md. — Southern Maryland families can kick off August with a free gift for kids, courtesy of Lowe’s. On Saturday, Aug. 2, Lowe’s is giving away free kids’ soccer balls starting at 10 a.m. to MyLowe’s Rewards members.
The giveaway is walk-in only and available while supplies last. No purchase is required, but families must show proof of a MyLowe’s Rewards account at the register. Membership is free and can be accessed through the Lowe’s app or website.
In addition to this one-day soccer ball promotion, Lowe’s has released a full schedule of free kids’ workshops for the coming months, encouraging hands-on learning and creativity. Advance registration is required.
Upcoming Free DIY-U Kids’ Workshops at Lowe’s
The DIY‑U Kids’ Builder Program is a hands-on workshop series that turns simple Saturday mornings into a journey of skill-building and achievement. More than just free monthly events, this nationwide program gives kids the chance to earn a free tool bag — just by showing up and building.
All workshops take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in-store. Advance registration is required, but walk-ups are allowed if space is available.
Each milestone includes:
- Junior Builder Recognition: After completing six workshops, kids receive an embroidered Junior Builder badge and an official certificate of recognition.
- Senior Builder Recognition: After completing 12 workshops, kids earn a Senior Builder badge, a second certificate and a Kobalt®-branded kids’ tool bag, or a similar item if supplies run out.
