ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Maryland’s Governor Wes Moore[D] officially announced on Tuesday, Sept. 9, that he will seek reelection in 2026.
Moore announced his reelection campaign via a YouTube video on his new channel. Lieutenant Governor Aruna Miller remains on the ticket.
“We are moving forward fast across the state and across party lines to prove to a dysfunctional Washington that there is a better way forward. To make our public schools the best in America. To end childhood poverty once and for all. And to make sure more Marylanders can afford to live here, buy a home here, and create wealth for their families, and live that secure middle-class life,” Moore said in the video.

The announcement comes amid some speculation that Moore would seek a presidential nomination in 2028. Moore has been vocal about his opposition to the Trump administration’s plans to add federal troops to Baltimore and has voiced his disagreement with the firing of federal workers.
Prior to the reelection announcement, Moore denied interest in running for president. On NBC News’ “Meet the Press” last Sunday, Moore said directly he wouldn’t be running for President in 2028, adding, “Our population is growing, Maryland is moving, and so I’m really excited about going back in front of the people of my state and asking for another term.”
Moore is a former Army officer and author who also worked as the CEO of the Robin Hood Foundation and as an investment banker. Moore defeated former state delegate Dan Cox[R] in 2022, and became the first Black governor of Maryland and the second veteran to serve in the role.
During his current term, Moore’s efforts have focused on managing Maryland’s budget deficit and economy-friendly policies. The new campaign website reads:
“As Governor, Wes has prioritized reducing child poverty, supporting the middle class, and investing in education. Under his leadership, Maryland has made first-in-the-nation efforts to fight child poverty, made record investments in public education, and taken bold steps to build an economy that works for everyone. He turned a structural budget deficit into a surplus, turned one of the highest unemployment rates in the country into one of the lowest, and cut taxes for veterans and middle-class families.”

Well that sucks
If he wants another term as Governor, it would be best if he did it in another state.
I’ll bet that most Marylander’s have no idea of the tax hikes, price hikes and many other damages he’s done to our state! Check out your MVA fees this year and the new “exit tax”. You have to give him 6% of the value of your house if you sell it and leave Maryland. A $500,000 home would be giving him $30,000!
Could the left be numb enough to bring him back after all of the damage he’s done here? Never underestimate the left…
He will be voted in again, southern maryland voted don’t count, only the counties surrounding DC count
“Could the left be numb enough to bring him back after all of the damage he’s done here?”
Duh! That’s what ‘THEY’ do.
SpendMoore in 2026!!!
when it comes to elections is it PG, Montgomery and Baltimore City |||||||||||| (dividing line) the rest of the state? (that would leave the candidates pacing back and forth about how they’re gonna get PG, Montgomery , Baltimore City)
