BROOMES ISLAND, Md. — Two people were transported to a trauma center Friday morning after a single-vehicle crash in Calvert County.
The crash was reported at approximately 6:00 a.m. on July 10, 2026, in the area of Broomes Island Road and Church Road in Broomes Island.
Emergency dispatch information indicated a pickup truck struck a tree. The caller reported injuries, with one person bleeding from the face, head and eyebrow area and another person possibly suffering a broken arm.
Crews arrived to find two people were injured.
Emergency crews requested a check on medevac availability due to the injuries, but the patients were ultimately transported by ground to UM Capital Region Medical Center.
Police are investigating the crash.
