Woman Kicked, Fought Arrest During Warrant Arrest At Lexington Park Restaurant

CALIFORNIA, Md. — A woman was held without bond after deputies say an arrest attempt inside a California restaurant turned into a struggle that injured deputies.

Angela Klosek, 50, was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, resisting or interfering with arrest, disorderly conduct and failure to obey a reasonable and lawful order following the May 24, 2026, incident.

According to charging documents, St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Bollywood Masala on Three Notch Road in California after locating a woman who had confirmed active warrants through the sheriff’s office.

Deputies made contact with Klosek while she was sitting alone in a booth inside the restaurant. Charging documents state she was told she had a warrant for her arrest and was under arrest, but remained seated and refused several orders to stand up.

The report states Klosek picked up a glass bottle of water and began drinking it instead of complying with deputies’ commands.

When a deputy attempted to take the bottle from her, Klosek allegedly pushed the deputy’s arm away and then moved to the other side of the booth in an attempt to get away, according to charging documents.

Deputies said she continued pulling away as they tried to place her in handcuffs. The report states Klosek began yelling during the struggle, disrupting the restaurant and causing patrons to turn toward the disturbance.

Charging documents state Klosek was placed in handcuffs and escorted out of the restaurant, but continued refusing to cooperate. Deputies said she sat down before leaving the building and again outside as they walked her toward a patrol vehicle.

The report states deputies had to pick Klosek up and carry her to the vehicle. While deputies attempted to place her inside the patrol vehicle, she allegedly wrapped her leg around a deputy’s leg, kicked one deputy in the shin and later kicked another deputy in the thigh, according to charging documents.

Klosek was secured in the patrol vehicle and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center.

Court records show Klosek was initially held without bond on May 25. She remained held without bond after a May 26 bail review before Judge James Tanavage.

A competency hearing set for June 4 before Judge Andrea R.S. Watkins was postponed, according to court records.

A trial is set for July 7 in St. Mary’s County District Court. A status hearing is also set for Aug. 26.
