Two Charged In Dollar General Cleaning Supply Theft Scheme In St. Mary’s County

HOLLYWOOD, Md. — Two people were charged after deputies reported Dollar General stores in Hollywood and Mechanicsville were targeted in thefts involving cleaning supplies, and a later traffic stop led to the recovery of suspected cocaine-related items.

Heiner Capati, 46, of Fort Washington, was charged with theft scheme from $100 to under $1,500, two counts of theft from $100 to under $1,500, theft less than $100, possession of a controlled dangerous substance that was not cannabis and possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia.

Kimberlee Alexandria Huerta, 23, of Alexandria, Virginia, was charged with theft scheme from $100 to under $1,500, theft from $100 to under $1,500, theft less than $100, possession of a controlled dangerous substance that was not cannabis and possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia.

The charges stem from incidents reported July 15, 2026, at Dollar General stores in Hollywood and Mechanicsville.

Charging documents state deputies first responded at approximately 1:40 p.m. to the Dollar General at 23848 Mervell Dean Road in Hollywood after a report that numerous items had been stolen from the laundry aisle. A store employee was able to provide a tag number from the vehicle involved, and store video was reviewed.

Investigators reported Huerta entered the store at approximately 1:32 p.m., placed numerous cleaning products inside a bag and left the store without paying. Thirteen cleaning products were taken, with a reported value of $136.80.

Approximately 50 minutes later, a similar theft was reported at the Dollar General at 27300 Old Village Road in Mechanicsville.

Charging documents state two people entered that store from a black SUV with tape on the rear window. Capati was described as wearing all black with black-and-white shoes, while Huerta was described as wearing a black tank top, black knee-length shorts and black-and-white shoes while carrying multiple tote bags.

The store manager reported Huerta placed items from the shelves into a tote bag and left without paying, while Capati did not take any items but had ridden with her, charging documents state. Eleven cleaning supply items were taken from the Mechanicsville store, with a reported value of $82.65.

Security video showed the two leaving the store and getting into a black SUV bearing the same Maryland registration connected to the earlier theft, investigators wrote.

A deputy later saw a vehicle matching the description parked at the gas pumps at a Wawa in the Charlotte Hall area. After waiting for the vehicle to leave, the deputy conducted a traffic stop.

Capati was identified using a photo of his Maryland driver’s license on his phone. Huerta was identified by a D.C. identification card, matched the description provided in the theft investigation and was identified by the store manager, charging documents state. Both were placed under arrest for theft.

During a search after the arrest, deputies reported finding a glass smoking device in the passenger door pocket where Huerta had been sitting. Deputies also reported finding a hypodermic needle without a cap containing an unknown brownish substance in the passenger door’s lower pocket. In a purple zip bag, deputies reported finding a glass vial, folded tin foil with suspected cocaine residue and a cap with a green zip-lock baggie containing suspected cocaine residue.

Charging documents state deputies found a glass smoking device in the driver’s door pocket, another glass smoking device under a seat cover on the driver’s seat, a black plastic device with suspected cocaine in the center console and a glass smoking device with a digital scale in Capati’s black Nike bookbag behind the driver’s seat.

Charging documents also state a stolen tag reported out of Montgomery County was found in the trunk area of the vehicle.

All of the stolen cleaning items from Dollar General were recovered from the back seat of the vehicle inside a large pink and white Dollar General bag, investigators wrote.

Capati was released on a $1,000 unsecured personal bond. Huerta was released on a $5,000 unsecured personal bond.

A hearing for both defendants is set for Sept. 8, 2026, in St. Mary’s County District Court.
