Catamaran’s Restaurant on Solomonโ€™s Island has overhauled their menu, making the list of entrees even tastier than before. Many of the old favorites remain, like the soft shell crab, along with a host of new items that are sure to become staples for the towering restaurant and bar.

Among the items that have been scratched is the NY strip steak and the old house salad.

The new house salad features apples, almonds, Mandarin oranges and feta cheese. Also on the salad menu is a โ€œsurf and turfโ€ salad. On the appetizer menu, snow crab legs have been added.

The โ€œBellโ€™s Burgerโ€ has been added to the sandwich menu, featuring mushrooms, onions, peppers and Swiss or American cheese. A rockfish filet also appears in the sandwich section now.

As for the entrees menu, the biggest changes took place here.

Some of the new items include: the house special, rockfish with lump crabmeat; yellow fin tuna; Italian lobster; Southern Comfort snapper; Alfredo snapper; honey chicken and shrimp scampi. Other items that stayed have been jazzed up a bit, like the filet mignon, which has been upgraded to 10 ounces and comes atop a portabella mushroom.

Catamaranโ€™s is well prepared today for the thousands of party-goers that will flock to the island for the annual opening of the Tiki Bar.

They have 4,000 square feet of covered space outside the restaurant (which will come in handy if we get the rain thatโ€™s predicted), with bands and DJs planned to play and spin all day and into the night.

Three major beer companies will be on hand, as well as the radio station DC 101.
