Walden has received a grant for $10,000 from CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst) to
provide general operating support for the organization’s Crisis and Trauma/Mental Health
Program. The CareFirst grant will help support Walden’s 24-hour crisis hotline and suffering
victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. To date, CareFirst has contributed $30,000 to
Walden’s program initiatives.

said Kathy O’Brien, CEO of Walden. “Without committed partners like CareFirst, our services
fail to reach residents of southern Maryland.”
