The 2012 Comprehensive Plan update process is now underway. Public input is essential to produce a new plan that reflects community consensus and identifies ways to maintain Charles County as an ideal place to live, work, shop and play.
The Department of Planning & Growth Management invites the public to attend a Comprehensive Plan Open House on Wednesday, October 19, from 5-8 p.m. at La Plata High School (6035 Radio Station Road, La Plata). This meeting is part of the public input process for the Charles County Comprehensive Plan, and no final decisions will be made as a result of the meeting.
Preserving open spaces. Enhancing transportation. These concepts and others drive the vision for the Comprehensive Plan, a long-range plan that guides policy, investment, program, and land use decisions within the County. Because Charles County is changing over time, it is necessary to review and update our Plan to ensure it reflects current conditions and community values. As a concerned Charles County citizen, your input is vital to this process.
