Leonardtown, MD – The Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack has received numerous complaints in reference to a telephone scam that has made its way to the area.
This particular scam is claiming to be from the U.S. Treasury Department advising the intended victim owes a large amount of money and will be arrested if they do not pay.
If you receive a phone call like this one or any other that you believe is a scam, do not give any personal information, including past or current addresses, birthdays, social security numbers, etc.
