Waldorf, MD – A midnight hour fire that damaged a 2007 Ford Fusion was deliberately set, state officials reported. According the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, the blaze was discovered Wednesday morning, Nov. 19 at a location on Crain Highway in Waldorf.
“The incendiary fire was ignited in the rear passenger compartment of the vehicle, causing approximately $5,000 in damage,” Dfm. Melissa Decker stated. “There were no injuries as a result of the fire.”
The blaze was discovered by the vehicle owner and a store manager. No fire department response occurred. Decker identified the vehicle’s owners as Kenneth and Andrea Butler.
