Giant Employee Steals Over $800, Drugs Found on Suspect

Dep. Thomas Rickard responded to the Lusby Giant on Sept. 2, for the report of a theft. 

He made contact with the store theft investigator.  The investigator advised that he had developed a store employee as a suspect after it was learned that more than $800 was missing over a course of days in August of this year. 

Dep. Rickard arrested the suspect employee, identified as Horace Kelvin Smith, Jr., 20 of Lusby, and charged him with theft over $500. 

A search incident to arrest revealed suspected cocaine and marijuana.  Smith was also charged with possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana.
