Dollar in Pocket Causes Suspicious Bulge, Trooper Finds the Coke

At 1:30 p.m. April 13, TFC T. Quade of the Leonardtown trooper barrack stopped a vehicle on Pegg Lane at Pegg Road, Lexington Park, for having rear tires and rims protruding out from the vehicle.

The driver was identified as Sherry Lee Hawkins, 35, of Lexington Park. A pat down for weapons was conducted and a bulge was detected in her pants pocket.

Hawkins removed the item, a folded dollar bill. The bill was unfolded and contained inside was a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine.

Ms. Hawkins was arrested and charged with Possession of Cocaine. She was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bail review.
