At 7:40 p.m. Dec. 4, TFC Quade was patrolling Route 235 in the area of Loveville Road in Mechanicsville when he initiated a routine traffic stop on a Ford truck after observing the driver was not wearing his seat belt.
The driver, James Roy Chase, 56 of Mechanicsville was contacted and a MVA check revealed his driver’s license was suspended. He was subsequently arrested.
A search incident to arrest revealed Mr. Chase was in possession of cocaine, heroin, marijuana, several prescription medications (Percocet, Clanapin, Methadone) and drug paraphernalia.
Chase was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending a bond review.
