District Heights, MD — A Prince George’s County man has died after being hit by a Mercedes on Silver Hill Road in District Heights.
It happened late Saturday night. When officers from the Prince George’s County Police arrived on the scene in the 5900 block of Silver Hill Road around 11:40 p.m., they found a man suffering from critical injuries. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Investigators are working to identify the adult male victim. His name will be released once he is identified and his family is notified.
The preliminary investigation reveals the victim was attempting to cross the street mid-block when he was struck by a Mercedes travelling southbound on Silver Hill Road. The initial collision caused the victim to fall to the ground.
He was then struck a second time by an SUV which was unable to avoid striking the victim. Both drivers were uninjured and remained on the scene. Investigators are working to determine circumstances leading up to the collision.
