ย On Feb. 27, the St Maryโs County Emergency Communication Center broadcast a lookout for a blue truck that was being operated in a reckless manner.
ย Deputy Walters located suspect vehicle.ย As Deputy Walters approached to investigate, the driver of the vehicle exited the vehicle and lost balance.ย In speaking with the driver, Deputy Walters detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage upon the driverโs breath and person.
ย The driver, John Joseph Gleason, 40 of Oxon Hill, was offered the Standardized Field Sobriety Test.ย Prior to beginning of the Standardized Sobriety Test, Gleason was asked if he had any items on his person, which could harm Deputy Walters.
ย Gleason produced a glass smoking device with suspect cocaine residue. Deputy Walters secured the glass smoking device.ย Gleason was then administered the tests, which he failed. Gleason was arrested and charged with possession of CDS and possession of CDS paraphernalia and driving under the influence of alcohol.ย
