At 6:53 a.m. Feb. 26, Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Kentucky Avenue near Charles Street in Dentsville for the report of a motor vehicle crash.
Investigation revealed a 16-year-old Charlotte Hall boy was driving a Nissan coupe north on Kentucky Avenue when he failed to control his speed while rounding a curve and lost control of the vehicle. The Nissan left the roadway and struck a tree.
The driver, who had been wearing his seatbelt, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was flown by a Maryland State Police helicopter to Prince George’s General Hospital.
Officer R. Williams of the Traffic Operations Unit is investigating.
