WALDORF, Md. – Let’s give a round of applause to PJ Wilson, part of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Judicial Services civil processor team and a bystander who stepped in to help out.
Recently, PJ found himself stopping traffic on Smallwood Drive near 301 while a mama duck and her babies were crossing. But the baby ducklings were having trouble keeping pace and they couldn’t get up onto the curb.

With a kind heart and quick reflexes, PJ stepped in to lend a helping hand! A bystander came up to help. One by one, they gently escorted each little duckling to safety, guiding them onto the grassy curb where their relieved mama awaited. And off they waddled, a happy feathered family reunited once more!
Their act of kindness shines just brightly! Thank you for showing us that sometimes, it’s the simplest gestures that make the biggest impact.

on the eve of the eclipse, no less.
