Pax River, MD – We were excited to welcome a new addition to the flightline this past week. On Saturday October 7th, maintainers for the VX-23 Dyncorp/Navy team towed Salty Dog 536 (BUNO 159909) along the taxiways and roadways of NAS Patuxent River to deliver it to the museum. Leadership from VX-23 arranged a small “parade” behind the aircraft for the last 1/2 mile consisting of current and former Prowler team members and their families.

Check out the video of its arrival on our Facebook page.

SAVE THE DATES – Dec 1st & 2nd for the PROWLER PARTY and MEET THE AIRPLANE!

To celebrate the Prowler’s arrival at the museum, we will be hosting two events. The Prowler Party will be a catered event with beer and wine for sale on the evening of December 1st and will consist of guest speakers, the transfer of the logbooks to the museum, and probably quite a few sea stories. Info on tickets will be on the events page of our website and an additional reminder email will be heading your way.

SEND US YOUR TEST TEAM PICTURES and we’ll feature them during the weekend activites.

Meet The Airplane will be on Saturday December 2nd, and is FREE TO THE PUBLIC. We’re waiving the admission fee for the day to encourage as many of our neighbors from near and far to come meet the Prowler. There will be special demonstrations, kids activities and a question and answer panel consisting of current and former EA-6B aircrew and engineers.
