UPDATE: @ 12:30 PM – U.S. Navy official has identified the shooter at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola as a Saudi Arabian aviation student.
Authorities are investigating if the shooting was terrorism related.
Escambia County Sheriff Morgan said; Two Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies who were the first to respond were among the injured, one was shot in the arm and the other in the knee, and both were expected to recover. One of the injured deputies killed the shooter.
Escambia County Sheriff Morgan said; Eleven people were shot all together, including the two sheriff’s deputies. Four of whom died, including the shooter.
UPDATE: @ 11:07 AM – Officials at Naval Air Station Pensacola report four people are confirmed dead, including the shooter as well as multiple injuries.
The base is still in lockdown as first responders secure the scene. Base security and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service are currently investigating. The names of the victims will not be released until the next of kin have been notified.
More information will be released as it becomes available.
UPDATE: @ 8:54 AM – Officials at Naval Air Station Pensacola report that an active shooter incident occurred this morning on the base. The gunman who opened fire on Pensacola Naval Air Station this morning is dead.
Reports of the shooting started to come in around 6:30 a.m. Shooter was confirmed dead at 7:50 AM
At least one victim has died. Sacred Heart is receiving 6 patients. Baptist Hospital has received 5 patients thus far. One patient is critical.
The base is closed for the remainder of the day. Only essential personnel will be allowed onto the base.
This is the second active shooting in few days at a military installation. Wednesday two civilian Defense Department employees were killed by a sailor at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard in Hawaii.

Pensacola Naval Air Station, FL – December 6, 2019, @ 8:30 AM Military officials have responded to a reported active shooter situation at NAS Pensacola on the Florida Panhandle.
Active shooter was reported sometime around 7 a.m. Friday. Both gates are closed and the base is locked down.
