UPDATE @7:24a.m. — Northbound and southbound Rt 4 at Broomes Island Rd is now open.
Turn lane for go NB on Rt 4 from Broomes Island Rd and from SB Rt 4 to turn onto Broomes Island are currently closed.
BROOMES ISLAND, Md. — We are receiving reports of a serious accident this morning that has a road closed.
At approximately 6:35 a.m. on June 30, first responders were alerted to an accident on MD Route 4, in the area of Broomes Island Road. Our reports indicate that a white Hyandai Santa Fe and a red Dodge Ram were involved in the crash.
One of the drivers was reportedly unconscious at the scene following the crash. The Ram was reported to have landed on the northbound side, and the Santa Fe came to a halt in the southbound intersection. We do not currently have the status of any other injuries at this time.
All of the northbound lanes of Route 4 in the area of Broomes Island Road are shutdown. All northbound traffic on Route 4 is now being rerouted down St. Leonard Road.
