At about 10:30 p.m. Feb. 12, TFC White & Tpr. Chirichella of the Prince Frederick barrack responded to a reported theft, later determined to be a strong armed robbery, at the Huntingtown 7-11 convenience store.

The crime had just occurred.ย  Two African-American male suspects fled in a blue Honda sedan after taking numerous cartons of Newport cigarettes. The officers observed the suspect vehicle traveling north on MD Rt. 2-4. They pursued it and, with the assistance of DFC Cress of the Calvert County Sheriffโ€™s Office, the suspects were stopped and taken into custody without incident.

Wilbert Francis Dickerson, 56 of Washington, DC, was the driver and James Edmunson Troy, 53 of Washington, DC) was the passenger. Police found suspected cocaine on Dickerson and Troy had suspected heroin in his possession. Approximately 17 cartons of Newport cigarettes, valued at $577, were recovered from the theft.

Further investigation determined that the suspects entered the 7-11 Store when Troy forced his way into the rear area of the store behind the cash registers and starting taking the cigarettes.

One of the clerks, Jiwan Singh, 32, attempted to stop Troy, but the crook picked up a napkin dispenser and struck Singh on the head. Dickerson remained in the store and served as a lookout. Singh did not sustain any serious injuries.

These same suspects may be responsible for at least two other similar robberies of area convenience stores over the past 2-3 months, police say. Members of the Calvert Investigation Team responded to further this investigation. Both suspects remain incarcerated pending District Court Commissionerโ€™s hearings.
