ANNAPOLIS, Md. – On February 24, 2024, an Anne Arundel County Police Officer was issued a criminal summons, charging the officer with second-degree assault for the officer’s involvement in an off-duty, domestic-related incident.
The officer is identified as Corporal R. Daniel, an 8-year veteran of the Anne Arundel County Police Department assigned to the Bureau of Administration.
Corporal Daniel has been administratively suspended with pay pending an investigation by the Office of Professional Standards.

** the police are not into customer service. Similar to a hospital, they have a monopoly and when that kind of thing happens, you have no choice but to deal with them. OPS decides whether procedures are broken/ violated, not whether you’re satisfied with the outcome.**
I’m aware that the police are more willing to give themselves a back- up than if you’re having difficulty with a traffic stop, but ……….. if you’re stopped, it doesn’t hurt to call the non- emergency # and request an officer that you get along with. They may/ may not comply. If you get along with an officer, theres a greater chance the traffic stop will go smooth.
