Annette Helleen Laughter, 54, of Mechanicsville, Maryland, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the love of her children and grandchildren.
Annette was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia to the late Willard Laughter and Virginia Livingston, on August 23, 1971. She was known for her caring heart, strength, and dedication to those she loved. She worked as an emergency dispatcher with DC Water & Sewer, where she devoted herself to helping others with compassion and professionalism throughout her career.
Her dedication to the Lord and works by faith are now survived by her children, Danyell Laughter, Vanessa Bowman, Briana Bowman (DeShawn), and Erika Bowman; her brothers, Mark Laughter (Brandi) and Bruce Laughter (Anna); her grandchildren, Arianna, Greyson, Desmond, and Eloriah. She also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will miss her deeply.
Annette was preceded in death by her parents, Willard Laughter (September 22, 2019) and Virginia Livingston Laughter (March 1, 2026).
Annette grew up in Deep Creek Virginia and graduated from Deep Creek High School in 1989 and continued her education achieving a Degree in Accounting. She enjoyed gymnastics, horseback riding, and was a very decorated softball athlete. Her favorite pass time was spending time with her family whether it was camping, a midnight ride to Wawa or family nights watching a movie and popping popcorn.
Family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Gospel Light Baptist Church, 39315 Romans Way Mechanicsville, MD 20659. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens in Leonardtown, MD.
