Waldorf, MD – Crustacean Nation, USA is excited to kick off their ninth season with Fan Fest at the Ballpark on April 9, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m, presented by Chick-fil-a of Charles County. This FREE event is the perfect way for Blue Crabs fans to get excited the 2016 season. 

Kicking-off the festivities will be the annual St. Charles Running Festival, with proceeds benefiting the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center. Once again, there will be three distances (ten miles, five Kilometers, and a kid’s fun run). The ten mile and five kilometers run will start and end at Regency Furniture Stadium, with the fun run taking place inside the stadium. New this year, fans will have the opportunity to watch the Blue Crabs open tryouts that will take place on the field from 10:00-12:00. Those interested can tryout with a $45 registration fee, with bats and helmets provided by the Blue Crabs. Please note, registration and payment must be processed prior to April 9th. Returning to fan fest this year is the third annual “Crustacean Nation Softball Faceoff,” starting at 1:00 on the field. The first sixteen fans to register will be broken up into team Optiz and team Bliss. Participants will not only be given the opportunity to play softball under the leadership of the Blue Crabs’ Coaching staff, but they will also be given four (4) tickets to Home Grown Opening Night on April 21st, with the opportunity to be recognized on the field. In addition to the excitement on the field, Donald Quade and Donvan Farrell from Drivin Muzzy, as well as Phillip Parsons and Brandi Lynne Wightman of “No Last Call” will be performing live music on the concourse throughout the entire event. Kids will also be excited to hear that the Kid’s Park will be FREE and there will be a face painting station. Fans of all ages will also be invited to a full team autograph session on the concourse and have the opportunity to meet and greet with Pinch, the Blue Crabs’ mascot. Chick-fil-a of Charles County will also be on hand with games and activities for the youngest Blue Crabs Fans.

April 9th will also give fans the opportunity to pick-up their season tickets, Hearing Professionals’ Silver Slugger Packages, Chick-Fil-A Backfin Buddies Memberships, and individual tickets. Don’t have your tickets yet? Don’t worry! Individual tickets and ticket packages will be on-sale during the entire event, so you can join all the fun this season.
