LA PLATA, Md. — Arby’s is officially taking over the former Roy Rogers building in La Plata, representatives confirmed to The BayNet on Wednesday, July 15.
Luis Group Management LLC confirmed in an email to The BayNet that Arby’s will be moving into the building at 6370 Crain Highway in La Plata.
“We can now confirm that Arby’s will be taking over the former Roy Rogers building at 6370 Crain Highway, La Plata,” the representative wrote.
According to the representative, a building permit application has been filed with the Town of La Plata. The company hopes to open the restaurant by the end of the year or in early 2027.
Former Roy Rogers Closed In March
The confirmation comes months after Roy Rogers closed at the location. The restaurant’s final day of business was March 31. When The BayNet visited the site April 1, staff confirmed the closure and said employees were being reassigned to other Roy Rogers locations, including Waldorf and the Prince Frederick/Solomons area.

Arby’s is known for roast beef sandwiches, curly fries, sliders, chicken sandwiches and other fast-casual menu items.
Luis Group Management LLC is the restaurant group behind the new Arby’s location planned for the former Roy Rogers building. The company’s website also lists brands including Dunkin’, Baskin-Robbins, Jersey Mikes Subs and Arby’s.
The BayNet will provide updates as additional details, including an opening date, become available.

Arbys mean smells, looks, tastes like garbage drip.
This used to be an Arby’s! Keeps switching back and forth between the 2. Last Arby’s closed because the service was so horrible!
Ew. Yuck! That fake, rubbery, wanna-be “meat”?? Would much rather have Roy Rogers. Sorry to see it go……
