On September 7, at 3:37 p.m. Deputies responded to a residence in Lexington Park, for the report of a domestic related disturbance.
Investigations revealed the victim and James I. Dennis, 55 of Lexington Park, were involved in a verbal altercation over family issues. The verbal dispute escalated at which time Dennis grabbed the victim, pushed her to the floor and began choking her. The victim was able to fend off the attack. A short time later Dennis returned to the bedroom armed with a handgun and threatened the victim.
Dennis was located in the garage area of the residence, placed under arrest, charged with Assault First Degree, Assault Second Degree and incarcerated in the Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
