At 8:40 p.m.on Jan. 27 , a man approached a 21-year-old Waldorf man in the stairway of an apartment building in the 2000 block of Amberleaf Place in Waldorf, brandished a handgun and demanded money. The victim complied. A second victim advised the suspect he had nothing to give. The armed robber fled with an undisclosed amount of money and the first victim’s cell phone.
The victim reported the incident at the Charles County Sheriff’s Office La Plata District Station. Members of the Tactical Response Squad checked the area where the robbery occurred but did not locate the suspect.
The second victim did not report the robbery and the Sheriff’s Office has little information regarding his identity.
The suspect is described as a black male between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall and was wearing a black ski mask and a black North Face jacket.
