The Maryland State Fire Marshall’s are investigating an arson case in Waldorf. Fire investigators were called out to a vehicle fire on Southbound Route 5 at Billingsly Road in Charles County on Jan. 12, around 6:45 p.m.

Firefighters arrived on the scene to find that unknown person(s) set fire to a 2001 Dodge Neon after stealing a radio and TV.

The fire was discovered by a passerby. The damage estimate rings in at $1,500.

No injuries were reported. The preliminary cause of the blaze was arson.
