Our annual grant season is now open with the posting of the applications online at www.charlescountyarts.org/grants, and with hard-copies available through our CCAA Office in La Plata.
A mandatory Grant Workshop will be held on Wednesday, September 9, at 7:00 pm, at the United Way House in La Plata (10250 La Plata Road) to provide training and answer questions for all potential applicants for CAD grants.ย Completed CAD and AIE grant applications with all required copies must be in the possession of the CCAA Office (not postmarked) no later than 12:00 noon on October 9.
As in previous years, our CCAA Arts Grant Program offers two types of grants:ย Community Arts Development (CAD) grants for nonprofit organizations, and Arts in Education (AIE) grants for schools.ย The CAD grants have two sub-categories:ย General Operating grants for arts organizations, and Special Project grants for non-arts organizations that present activities in the performing, visual and literary arts.ย Schools may request up to $750; nonprofit organizations may be eligible for up to $6,000.ย ย All grants have matching requirements ranging from 1:1 to 3:1, depending on the amount being requested.ย Grant applications are reviewed by a Grant Panel comprised of members of the CCAA Board of Directors and representatives from the community.ย The grants will be awarded at the CCAA Annual Grantee and Membership Gala on November 14, 2015.
