WALDORF, Md. — A Waldorf woman was charged with robbery and assault after authorities said an argument at a Leonardtown Road business escalated into a fight and the alleged theft of an employee’s phone.

Jeronda Artina Williams, 42, of Waldorf, is charged with robbery, theft of $100 to under $1,500, second-degree assault, affray and disorderly conduct.

A Charles County officer responded around 10:13 a.m. on May 28, 2026, for a reported theft at the Shell and auto services business in the 3100 block of Leonardtown Road in Waldorf, according to charging documents. The business is also connected to a Shell gas station and convenience store.

While responding, the officer reported seeing two women fighting in the parking lot of Southern Maryland Gun and Pawn, which is connected to Leonardtown Road. The officer activated emergency equipment and separated the two people involved.

Williams was placed in handcuffs near a marked patrol vehicle while the officer investigated, charging documents state.

Williams told police she had been trying to get gas when a cashier refused service, according to the report. The employee told police Williams had parked in the wrong section of the gas pump area and could not be served unless she moved her vehicle.

After being told she needed to move, Williams allegedly became belligerent and began threatening the employee, according to charging documents.

Police said Williams then entered the area behind the cash register and began shoving the employee before the two began fighting inside the store. A witness attempted to separate them during the altercation.

During the fight, the employee dropped her phone, described in court documents as a black iPhone 11 with a floral case and an approximate value of $800. Police said Williams was seen picking up the phone and placing it in her purse before leaving the business and walking toward the pawn shop.

Williams was arrested and transported to the Charles County Detention Center for processing. During a search of her purse, police reported finding the employee’s phone.

Court records show Williams was initially held on a $5,000 bond on May 28, 2026, before being released on recognizance following a May 29 bail review before Judge Patrick J. Devine.

A preliminary hearing is set for June 26, 2026, in Charles District Court.
