Its organizers have billed it as an extravaganza and indeed Artsfest โ€™13 will be loaded with talented individuals and their work. The two-day event at Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Arts Center in Dowell will also provide attendees with opportunities to experience hands-on craftsmanship.

The festival will be held Saturday, Sept. 21 and Sunday, Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

The venue includes over 160 artistsโ€™ booths displayingโ€”and in some cases, sellingโ€”items ranging from handmade furniture, paintings and jewelry.

The gardenโ€™s main stage and the Council Ring will be venues for performers rendering virtually every genre of musicโ€”jazz, bluegrass, alternative rock, swing and folk.

Students from the Garrett Music Academy will perform both days on the Mezzanine Gallery Stage.

The festival will also have a variety of childrenโ€™s activities.

New to the festival this year are street performers who will provide entertainment to passersby.

Artsfest โ€™13 is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Maryland State Arts Council. The event will be held rain or shine. Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Arts Center is located on Dowell Road. An admission to Artsfest is $6 for adults, children 11 and under are admitted free. No pets are allowed.
