Solomons, MD –ย The Sam Grow Band played two shows Saturday, Nov. 28. The first show was in La Plata to help promote Small Business Saturday. The second took place in Solomons to raise funds for the United Way of Calvert County.

In La Plata, the band played to an all-ages crowd at a show the La Plata Business Association sponsored. Many people came out to support the local artists and enjoy live music.

In Solomons, the band performed at the Holiday Inn with opening act Robbie Boothe. The proceeds went to the United Way of Calvert County and go toward different needs within the county. Kelly Chambers, United Way CEO, stated โ€œIt was very successful, we raised approximately $3,000 and we are so happy that Sam Grow was able to help. Misty Gibson, owner of Tint Works Plus was integral in raising these funds as well, as a Queen Candidate, meaning whichever candidate raises the most money wins the crown.โ€

The Sam Grow Band consists of Sam Grow, vocals and guitar; Joe Barrick, drums; Mike Stacey, lead guitar; Gene Quade, bass; and Justin Moore, guitar. Grow refers to his fans as his family because โ€œwithout them, Iโ€™d be nothing.โ€ย  After the show, he greeted every fan that wanted to meet him, which took about an hour.

He went on to say, โ€œfor every person who bought a ticket, spent time watching me play, they get a hug. I get to live my dream and it is so important to give back. Maryland will always be home.โ€
