On Jan.1 at 1:45 p.m., an off duty Charles County Sheriff’s officer was working secondary employment at the Hotel Charles at 15110 Burnt Store Road in Hughesville, when he assisted employees with escorting a man from the business after the man became involved in an altercation.
The man refused to leave and attempted to re-enter the building. The officer initiated an arrest but the suspect, Brian Eugene Miller, 24 of Clements, began fighting. Miller was subdued and placed under arrest.
Shortly afterwards, a female patron began loitering outside the business. She refused to leave and became disorderly. The woman, Chanin Dea Gillroy, 26 of Bryans Road, was placed under arrest. Both suspects were charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Officer J. Clagett made the arrests.
