LEONARDTOWN, Md. — Noli’s Italian Cucina, a beloved local Italian restaurant known for its festivals, family recipes and loyal following, will close its storefront on Dec. 31, 2025, as its owners prepare to relocate out of state and focus on health and family.
In an emotional announcement, owners Mike and Melissa said the decision comes after four years of running the shop together and navigating significant medical challenges.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share that on December 31st 2025, we will be closing our storefront. This place holds such a special place in our hearts. Became a brand-new business owner, and got to work side-by-side with my own wife. We’ve gone through so many life chapters inside these walls….celebrations, struggles, growth, and countless memories. I poured my passion into this shop, and it has given me so much more in return,” the announcement said.
Noli’s Italian Cucina quickly became a community favorite, drawing crowds for Italian festival events and earning repeat recognition in local “best of” contests.
“From the amazing Italian festivals events to winning community choice best of the best Italian restaurant 4 consecutive years, to birthday parties and holiday parties, to seeing smiling faces walk in every day just looking for something delicious to brighten their day, this ride has been nothing but a blessing. So many of you have become lifelong friends… truly like family,” the owners wrote.
The couple said ongoing health issues and the need for family support are now guiding their next steps.
“As many of you know or may not, I have been facing significant health challenges. Because of this ongoing medical needs, and with us planning to travel out of state to be near family for support, we had to make the incredibly difficult decision to close our doors. Health will now become our #1 goal,” the announcement continued. “You have all been so supportive over the past 4 years but especially this last year/ year and a half struggling through several big life changes… sending prayers, love, and encouragement through every setback. Balancing medical expenses, business expenses, and the emotional stress of both has taken a huge toll, and closing the storefront is what’s best for our family right now.”
Over its four years in business, Noli’s Italian Cucina became a go-to spot for birthday parties, holiday gatherings and everyday comfort meals, with many customers returning week after week. The owners said that support helped carry them through some of their hardest seasons.
“From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU for the love, support, and kindness you’ve shown over the last 4 years,” they wrote, signing the message: “Mike and Melissa.”
Noli’s plans to continue normal operations through Dec. 31, giving customers a final opportunity to stop in, share a meal and say goodbye.

It’s not like it was Café Des Artiste, anything that had won any culinary award or had been here for decades.
So sorry to hear this. Hard to find authentic Italian food in this area.
Noli’s has the best Italian food in Southern MD, hands down. I am heartbroken to hear this news, but I understand and wish the owners well. You will be sorely missed. I think my husband is literally going to cry when I break this news to him.
