La Plata, MD – The Charles County Crime Solvers is seeking participants and sponsors for the Blaine Lessard Memorial Trap Shoot Sunday, May 17 at the Metro Gun Club, Poplar Hill Road, Waldorf.

The event honors former Charles County Crime Solvers member Blaine Lessard, who died in 2013 at the age of 55.

Lessard was the owner of American Canine Scent Detection Co. in Welcome, where he trained scent detection dogs. Besides being involved in Charles County Crime Solvers, Lessard was known for his work with the Humane Society of Charles County, Rotary Club, Charles County Business Networking and Civista Health Foundation.

The Blaine Lessard Memorial Trap Shoot is seeking five-member teams for the entrance fee of $425 or $85 per individual. The fee includes 50 targets, ammunition and lunch. Team and individual awards will be presented.

Spectators and guests can enjoy lunch for $10.

Also featured is a Shotgun or Cash Drawing where the winner can choose between a Benelli shotgun or $750 cash.

Registration takes place from 8-9 a.m. May 17, with practice from 9-10 a.m. before shooting commencing from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Lunch is offered from noon-2 p.m.
