BRIDGEPORT, CT.—The Blue Crabs struggled once again offensively as the Bluefish scored in bunches to pick up the 7-3 victory and split the four game series.

The Blue Crabs jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the third on a Bryant Nelson RBI single.ย  Bridgeport got on the board in the bottom half of the inning off RHP Jon Leicester in the bottom of the third.ย  After the Bluefish scored a run on a sacrifice, Luis An Rodriguez stepped to the plate and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly to left.ย  A couple of batters later, Dan Johnson ripped a two run double to right to bring the score to 4-1.

In the bottom of the sixth, Jose Cuevas came to the plate and drove a three run homerun over the wall to bring the score to itsโ€™ final of 7-3.ย  RHP Blake Beavan picked up the win for Bridgeport on the hill, going five innings allowing one earned run.

Meanwhile for the Blue Crabs, Steve Lombardozzi went 2-5 and has now hit safely in 30 of 35 games played this season.ย  Angel Flores and Dโ€™Arby Myers each contributed with RBIs as well.ย  Southern Maryland will now return home for a quick three game set against the Somerset Patriots beginning tomorrow night.ย  The first pitch is set for 7:05 P.M.
