WALDORF, MD— The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs announce on June 3rd that Capitals Night—with a special appearance by Joe Beninati—has been moved from June 25th to June 24th, and Orioles Night—with a special appearance by Mike Bordick—has been rescheduled for August 27th.
Beninati will be at the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter’s 58th Emmy Awards Gala on Saturday June 25th, where he is nominated for two awards. Due to the nomination, Beninati will no longer be able to attend the June 25th game against the York Revolution. The Blue Crabs Organization congratulates Joe on his accomplishments and look forward to having him out to the Ballpark on June 24th when the Blue Crabs take on the York Revolution at 7:05. Beninati is a play-by-play announcer for Comcast Sportsnet, and he was named Washington, D.C. Broadcaster of the Year in January 2015.

Originally scheduled for May 21st against the Lancaster Barnstormers, weather and field conditions did not allow Orioles Night to take place. With assistance from the Major League Baseball Alumni Association, the Blue Crabs and Mike Boridck were able to reschedule his visit to Regency Furniture Stadium for August 27th against the Sugarland Skeeters. Bordick, 50, played on the Baltimore Orioles for six seasons, and he was elected to the Orioles’ Hall of Fame in 2011. Since his playing career ended, Bordick has served as a Color Analyst for the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN).
Tickets for the June 25th game may be exchanged for tickets to the June 24th game by visiting the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs Box Office. Tickets for the May 21st postponement may be redeemed for any 2016 Blue Crabs regular season home game. For more information, please contact Austin Gore at (301) 374-1129 or agore@somdbluecrabs.com.
