Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Michael J. Martirano, announces the administrative appointments made by the Board of Education at its meeting of February 14, 2007.
The Board appointed Mr. Robert Springer to the position of senior accountant in the Department of Fiscal Services. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Springer served as the school system’s auditor/accountant for restricted funds. His experience also includes serving as a grants and contracts administrator, and a senior fiscal technician with Virginia Polytechnic Institution and State University (Virginia Tech) in Blacksburg, VA. Mr. Springer earned his Master of Business Administration degree and Bachelor of Science degree from the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech.
Ms. Sarah Osche was named certification specialist for the Department of Human Resources. She most recently served as a second to third grade looping teacher at Benjamin Banneker Elementary School. Ms. Osche, who joined the school system in 2002 as a fourth grade teacher at Greenview Knolls Elementary School, has also served as a summer intern in the HR Department. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in education from Clarion University in Pennsylvania.
These appointments become effective immediately.
