BALTIMORE – The Independent Investigations Division (IID) of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General today released the body-worn camera footage from the fatal police-involved shooting involving the Montgomery County Department of Police and the Gaithersburg Police Department that occurred on Sunday, July 12, 2026, in Gaithersburg, Montgomery County, Maryland.
The decedent was previously identified as 46-year-old Elliott Powers of Rockville, Maryland.
